Tinikling

Little Bird Dance. This is a Filipino folk dance that we saw a group do on the Loboc River. Basically, if you're not fleet-footed like a little Tinikling bird, you'll get chopped by the bamboo poles. We're bluegrassers, we respect a little danger in our music.

Here's a more professional group doing a very involved routine.

Chris, is there any Eastern European component to this dance and/or music? Sure sounds and looks like it. I know the Philippines have myriad Asian and European influences, thanks to all those years of imperial dogs!
