A blog for bluegrass fans to talk about bluegrass or whatever and to check up on the Java Brothers Bluegrass Band from Radford, Virginia. We are progressive, but pretty much only to the extent that we'll play new songs as hard driving bluegrass. We love Bill Monroe, the Stanley Brothers, The Seldom Scene, JD Crowe, Tony Rice, Sam Bush, the Country Gentlemen, the Beatles, the Stones, and all the greats.

Jam was pretty good. Let's see, we had Ralph, George, Doug Dalton, Richard, Frankie, Joe, Sloane, Kendall, Nancy, Jason, Doug, and myself. We also had a young lady, sit in for a couple of numbers on the fiddle. She's a sixth grader, named Avery (?) and she tore us up on Ole Joe Clark! Brian came in later.
Doug and Joe left a little early, and it got a little more laid back at that point. I guess is was kinda the Coffee Mill Unplugged. It was still pretty good. Ralph and I kept the JB's presence there for the entire night, but were quick to leave at 10pm. Those late night gigs are a killer!
